The Junior Database Developer will participate in all aspects of the software development life-cycle, including estimating, technical design, implementation, documentation, testing, deployment and support of applications developed for our clients. As a member working in a team environment you will work with solution architects and developers on interpretation/translation of wire-frames and creative designs into functional requirements, and subsequently into technical design. You will most likely be considered a team lead.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- 5+ years’ experience as a Microsoft SQL Server Development DBA, to include T-SQL Stored procedures, View, database design/normalization, referential integrity, optimization, trouble-shooting, SSIS, and SSRS.
- Adept at providing database support for developing web-based applications, data feeds/ETL, data analysis and conversion.
- Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems
- Applies knowledge of API (Application Programing Interface) for data services and databases
- Designs, develops, builds, analyzes, evaluates, installs and administers database management systems to include database modeling and design, relational database architecture, metadata and repository creation and configuration management
- Designs and implements databases with respect to access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, ETL tasks, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods
- Prepares system requirements, source analysis and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation
- Defines database organizations, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
- May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals
- May serve as a team or task lead
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Experience with build/test/release management, general automation, and security processes
- Help and assist in the integration of cybersecurity throughout development and operation lifecycles
- Create and support security and product upgrades and patches
- Support product security reviews and compliance with government security standards (e.g., StIGs/SRGs)
- Support government and company security requirements and compliance for Authority to Operate (ATO)
- Support product and security test events
- Create and update product support documentation
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience Required:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must have an Active DoD Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance if needed
- Must have a Security+ certification or other 8570, IAT II satisfying certification
- Requires 2 years of directly related experience
Desired Experience:
- Experience in software development utilizing Microsoft's Extract ‐ Load ‐ Translate (ETL) tool and SQL Servers Integration Services (SSIS) to handle and develop various data processes
- Experience with Java, Visual Basic, and/or C#
- Experience in Microsoft SQL Server 2008r2 or higher, Visual Studio.NET, MS
- Experience establishing a formal QA/QC process/program.
- Current Microsoft SQL Server certification
- Experience with database design and development
- Experience writing SQL queries
- Experience with T ‐ SQL
- Current CompTIA Security+ certification
Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, and a minimum of two years of experience in an IT environment (Five or more years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for this requirement)
- Experience in software development, system analysis, and database administration
- 5 years of related experience required, or 10 years of experience can be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree; 15 years of experience can be substituted for a Master's Degree.
