OSS offers a 401(k) plan, which allows employees to contribute pre-tax funds, up to the IRS statutory limits. Employees may choose any number of over 70 mutual fund options in which to invest. The company provides an annual match as a percentage of the employee’s contribution after six months of employment.
An employee retention bonus is paid annually to each regular full-time employee who is eligible for benefits. Several other bonus plans are currently being offered as incentives to employees that include: Target Hours Bonus, Recruiting and Referral Bonus, New Business Bonus, Technical Excellence Bonus, and a Customer Service Bonus.
Medical Plan
OSS offers three medical plans including an HMO plan, a Point of Service plan, and an HMO plan which includes a Health Savings Account (HSA).
Dental & Vision Plans
OSS provides comprehensive dental and vision care plans. Both plans allow employees the choice of using any service providers inside or outside their network and OSS pays a percentage of the plan.
Disability & Life Insurances
OSS provides life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment, and short- and long-term disability coverage.
Supplemental Insurances
OSS offers additional insurance options that are at the employee’s cost, which include Voluntary Life Insurance and a range of supplemental insurance options.
Flexible Spending Accounts
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) is also offered, which allow participants to set aside pre-tax money for medical, dependent care, transportation, and parking expenses.
OSS provides two weeks of vacation and 1 week of sick leave annually for the first year of employment. For every two additional years, employees accrue vacation at a higher rate. The company provides additional leave for bereavement, jury duty, National Guard, or Reserve duty.
In addition to sick leave and vacation, full-time employees receive eleven holidays each year. OSS’s holiday schedule includes New Year's Eve, President's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after Thanksgiving, plus Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
To support on-going education, OSS provides an annual training budget to each eligible employee. Funds may be used for education purposes such as tuition reimbursement or professional development. Since each person knows best which skills are necessary for his or her current or next position, the employee guides the use of these training funds with the approval of the HR Director. OSS also reimburses the cost of memberships in professional associations and subscriptions to technical journals relative to their respective position.
Employee Assistance Program and Health Advocate
OSS provides employees with access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), which provides confidential support, 24 hours a day at no cost to the employee. In addition, OSS offers a Health Advocate service, which provides employees with one-on-one clinical and administrative health-related needs and concerns.
Internet Connectivity
OSS believes that the internet is both a productive tool for work and sharing, and an educational and communications tool. As such, OSS provides a monthly broadband connectivity allowance for every employee.
Team Building Activities
OSS values a sense of community and provides various team-building activities. OSS employees enjoy lunches with the CEO, an annual holiday party, bowling, putt-putt golf, and company picnics.
